How to Get from Antalya Airport to the City Centre and Kaleiçi

From Antalya Airport (AYT) you can reach the city centre by the T1A tram (about 50 minutes to İsmetpaşa, the stop for Kaleiçi), by city bus 600 or 800, by the Havaş airport bus, by taxi from the rank, or by a pre-booked private car. A private transfer to Kaleiçi costs from €25 per car and takes about 25 minutes.
Antalya Airport lies about 14 km east of Kaleiçi, the old town. Public transport is cheap but slow, and none of it stops at the old town's door. Which option suits you depends on your luggage, the time you land and how many of you travel together.
Tram T1A
The T1A AntRay tram is the only tram line that starts at the airport, with stops at both the domestic and the international terminal. For Kaleiçi, get off at İsmetpaşa, about 50 minutes from the airport; the line continues to Fatih near the zoo. You need an Antalyakart or a single-use ticket, bought before you board.
City buses 600 and 800
- Bus 600 runs from both terminals past Mall of Antalya and MarkAntalya to the main bus station (otogar). For Kaleiçi, change to the tram at Burhanettin Onat or at Muratpaşa.
- Bus 800 links the airport with Lara, Düden Waterfall, Fener and İnciraltı and ends at Burhanettin Onat, near the Konyaaltı end of the centre.
Havaş airport bus
The Havaş bus leaves from the domestic terminal and runs to the 5M Migros car park on the western edge of the city, near the Kemer bus stop. It runs about every hour from 6:00 to 22:00, with early buses at 4:30 and 5:30, and takes about 45 minutes without traffic. From the last stop you still need a taxi or the tram to reach the centre.
Taxi or a pre-booked car
Taxis wait outside both terminals and run on the meter in Turkish lira, so the total depends on traffic and the route. A pre-booked car has its price fixed when you book, and the driver meets you at the exit with your name. See taxi or fixed-price car for a side-by-side comparison.
| Option | To Kaleiçi | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Tram T1A | About 50 min to İsmetpaşa, then a short walk | Light luggage, daytime |
| Bus 600 + tram | One change | Budget travellers |
| Havaş bus | About 45 min to the western edge, then a taxi or tram | Hotels near Konyaaltı |
| Taxi | About 25 min, metered | No booking |
| Private transfer | About 25 min, from €25 per car | Families, late flights, luggage |
Kaleiçi's lanes are narrow and partly closed to cars. A driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach, such as Hadrian's Gate or the clock tower, and helps with your bags.
