Düden Waterfalls: Visiting the Upper and Lower Falls in Antalya

Quick answer

Antalya has two Düden Waterfalls. The Lower Falls drop about 40 m from the cliffs straight into the Mediterranean near Lara, in Düden Park, which is open around the clock and free. The Upper Falls are in a fenced park in the north of the city, open 08:00–19:00 from April to October and 08:00–18:00 in winter, with a small entry fee.

Lower Düden Falls

The Düden River reaches the sea at Lara, where it falls about 40 m off the cliffs into the Mediterranean. The best views are from the clifftop paths in Düden Park, and boat trips from the old harbour sail out to see the falls from the sea. The park is free and open all day, and it lies close to the Lara hotels, a short ride from the airport.

Upper Düden Falls

Upstream, the river comes back to the surface at a karst spring, after disappearing underground about 18 km away. The Upper Falls sit in a shaded park with paths behind and around the water. The park is open 08:00–19:00 from April to October and 08:00–18:00 from November to March; in 2025 the entry fee was 70 TL per adult.

Which falls to see

  • Short on time: the Lower Falls, combined with Lara beach or a stop on the way from the airport.
  • Hot afternoon: the Upper Falls, for the shade and the cool spray.
  • Both: they are in different parts of the city, so plan half a day or book a car with a driver.

Getting there

City bus 800 from the airport passes Düden Waterfall on its way to Lara. For both falls in one trip, or with children, a car with a driver for 8 or 10 hours waits at each stop, with fuel and parking included.
